Japan Festival

There are probably more people who hate Japanese than those who like, and it would have been a totally different story had they not invaded China 70 years ago. I am truly a patriot but yet not an anti-Japan activist. Still, I respect Japan as a nation of etiquette and innovation, and I love Japanese food!
The Japan Festival was taking place at the ASB Stadium not far away, how could I miss such a god given opportunity to fulfil my dream as well as my stomach? Together with other 2 friends of mine we cruised down on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The place was packed with people squeezing through the crowd and lining up to get the delicates. Up on the stage were singers and dancers entertaining visitors, coupled with a loop of elderly with such clemency.

But the noise coming from my belly made me go straight to a noodle kiosk, 3 of us ordered a bowl of Ramen each and that had started our dinning tour. For the following 2 hours we just kept eating and drinking, and everything was on special because it was close to the end of the day, shops were all on clearance sale, bargains like for 5 boxes of sushi, each for any drink... My favourite however, has to go to the Takoyaki (fried octopus), they were just simply delicious.

Isn't it great to be in a city of people from different countries with different cultures? Asian, European and American live harmoniously with local Kiwis, show case the very distinct flavour of their respective country. If you love Auckland, love the people of Auckland :)
