I personally don’t believe I’m a fan of any particular singer, I like any beautiful song by any singer, but I have to admit, this has changed since this Wednesday, after seeing Jacky Cheung live on stage, I was totally amused, amazed and astonished!

Jacky’s world tour was the first ever live concert that I went to, and he rocked the stadium by putting up a superb performance in front of thousands of viewers in New Zealand. It was a gala filled with sexy dances, beautiful vocals and classical musical.
Jacky gave a short introduction about his musical career after 3 dances in a row, and guess what, he’s been singing for as long as I live - 23 years. He actually had a concert in NZ 13 year ago, and there were quite a few among the crowd who were there at the time and came again today. At the age of 46, his voice never seemed to have aged at all. He talked about his musical journey, the tragic year of 2003 in Hong Kong showbiz, and his family. He’s married with two daughters, and he has composed and written songs for his wife and daughters, which I thought was sweet!
Then it was classic hits time when Jacky picked up 2 songs which he thought have been the most classic and most influential during his musical career, one in Cantonese and one in Mandarin. It followed by which I believe the most anticipated part and the highlight of the whole concert, the extract of Jacky’s hit classical musicals “Snow, Wolf, Lake” as well as “Perhaps Love”.
Jacky and his performers exeunt at the end of the splendid musicals, but they certainly were not enough to satisfy the crowd. I knew there had to be encores, but I didn’t expect it to be that long. Jacky sang one song after another, the crowd just went wilder and wilder. But the show must end, the party had to finish. Jacky pumped 110% into a 3-hour-plus concert, the song “Blessing” was a perfect finish at that very moment in that very place. What an unforgettable night, what a true star!
